LG is ready to introduce its V30 smartphone which the company has recently confirmed will sport the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and have a QHD + (1440 x 2880 pixels) resolution.
The switch to OLED which is a plastic one will not only increase its battery life and durability but as the company claims it will allow for curved edges on the sides but images of the smartphone suggest that the display will only be slightly tapered and not copy features of Samsung Edge.
The LG V30 will have a full vision display similar to the LG G6, and the company says it will cover 109 percent of the DCI-P3 colour space and support HDR10 as well.
The company has confirmed that despite the V30 being smaller in size to last year’s LG V20 the company has managed to reduce the bezels in V30 by 20 to 50 per cent and the logo has been moved to the back panel.
Speaking at the launch of V30 LG Electronics Mobile Communications President Juno Cho said, “Expertise in OLED has long been a core competency of LG, and the technology has always been seen as a potential value-add for smartphones. With competition in the global smartphone space fiercer now than ever, we felt that this was the right time to reintroduce OLED displays in our mobile products.”
According to earlier reports, it seems that the V30 will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC and will have a 3200mAH battery and will come with three storage capacities of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.,
An outline sketch leaked some time ago seems to suggest that the V30 will have a bezel-less design with centre-mounted two camera lenses having f/16 aperture at the back. It may also continue with the emphasis on low –light performance. The logo seems to sit right at the bottom.
According to Android Authority LG V30 will not have the secondary screen present in LGV20 and it will be replaced by a floating bar meant to give quick access to shortcuts, notifications, and other things.
It will also come with a fingerprint sensor and have Daydream support. It is also claimed that the smartphone will have wireless charging and to facilitate this will have a glass design at least on the back. The audio performance is expected to be better than the V20 as the LG V30 is likely to get the improved version of QAD DAC. It will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5, have military standard protection and better cooling management.
The much rumored LG flagship smartphone is expected to hit the US market on September 28 preceded by its announcement on August 31 while the pre-order bookings will begin on September 17.
