Red has come out with a video showcasing the prototypes of its first Android phone and it seems to be very large with an unconventional body that has grippy notches on the side.
Many of you may not have heard of Red but you would have surely watched its results. Red which is famous for making the top of the line cameras for Hollywood which has been using to shoot famous movies like the latest Transformer, Guardians of the Galaxy volume 2 etc had announced in June 2017 that it was entering the smartphone category.
This announcement created a lot of confusion and this video featuring YouTube star Marques Brownlee is an attempt by the company to clarify its position and dispel the doubts.
The video shows a massive proto-type with a 5.5-inch display having speakers both at the top and the bottom. Brownlee who had a look at another prototype with a working holographic display was mighty impressed with it.
He said that the company expects to have a prototype with the finished design and holographic display in the same body within 30 to 45 days.
The Red Hydrogen One has a dedicated video recording button, and a fingerprint sensor built into a flat power button. The phone also has a USB- C port, and a headphone jack. It has pins on the bottom on its back. These pins are to be used for fastening the modular add-ons to further increase the functionality of this giant smartphone.
Dubbed the –Red Hydrogen One the phone that claims to be the first in the world to have a holographic display, will come in two models – the entry level and the titanium model priced at USD 1195 and USD 1595 respectively and are expected to hit the market in 2018.
